"What you do with your life is just one-half of the equation; more importantly, it's who you're with as you're living it"
"It's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day."
"A best friend isn't someone who agrees with everything you do or say. A best friend is someone who loves you unconditionally and isn't afraid to challenge you; to help you become the best person you can be."
“The longer you have to wait for something, the more you will appreciate it when it finally arrives. The harder you have to fight for something, the more priceless it will become once you achieve it. And the more pain you have to endure on your journey, the sweeter the arrival at your destination. All good things are worth waiting for and worth fighting for.” - Susan Gale
"Life is too short to wake up with regrets. Love the people who treat you right and love the ones who don't, just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Kiss slowly and Forgive quickly. God never said life would be easy, He just promised it would be worth it."
"Love conquers all; let us too surrender to love."
"I was regretting the past and fearing the future. Suddenly God was speaking: My name is I AM. I waited; God continued: When you live in the past, with it's mistakes and regrets, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I WAS. When you live in the future, with it's problems and fears, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I WILL BE. When you live in this moment, it is not hard. I am here. My name is I AM!"
"Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk everything, you risk even more."
"Accept and forgive. Sometimes we need to recognize that we're not perfect and other individuals are not perfect either, but that the value of continuing the relationship far outweighs the shortcomings or negative aspects of the relationship. Learning truly to accept and forgive, without resentment, is a mark of great maturity"
"A hug is a great gift, one size fits all"
"Start appreciating the memories you have and stop begrudging the ones you never got to make."
"Try not to focus on yourself
Share that love with someone else..."
"See with original purity
Embrace with original simplicity
Reduce what you have
Decrease what you want"
"Together we can make it right"
"With Love, you can overcome any adversity if you just try hard enough. Love isn't easy, people fail to understand that these days. Love is hard, it takes work. Love is scary, it takes courage. Once you find real love though, it is worth every second of pain you might feel because true love is everlasting and always worth fighting for"
"Beauty is NOT what you see on TV, in movies, or in magazines. In fact, true beauty isn't something 'physically seen' at all. TRUE BEAUTY can only be found in someone's Heart and in their character!"
"There can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do"
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away"
"The only thing for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"
"Pleasure turns to the pain, of the lessons learned from the strain of the questions burned in my brain, about whether to love is humane in its touch. These thoughts are like salmon swimming upstream in the tears of your deceit; fighting the current hurt that kills more than is created by the chaos of our intertwined emotions. Chaotic because the anchor of Eros' arrow has been plucked from the vessel of my undying infatuation. Separation not as simple as the distance between us my mind no longer possessed by the demons that had been the overseers of my enslavement to your lies. The seeds of these lies rooted so deeply they have cracked the foundation of what we once shared. Allowing the faith in us I had sealed inside to gush out like a river, ripping the image of our future together from my thoughts as violently and as brutally as if it were a child being taken from his mother's arms. I'm left surrounded in darkness but I refuse to be swallowed by it. My loneliness like the night air. Invisible to the eye, obvious to the touch, in its cold uncomfortableness yet if I could do it all over again, I'd do it in the same skin I'm in. To lie down and let love die. Just stay down and let love lie, No, no, not I. I'll stay 'round and let love fly, Even though I have seen its darkest form, deceit. Nothing else could taste this warm or feel this sweet."
“A poor self-image reveals a lack of humility. Feelings
of insecurity, inadequacy, inferiority and self-hatred rivet our attention on
ourselves. Humble men and women do not have a low opinion of themselves they
have no opinion of themselves; they have no opinion of themselves because they
so rarely think about themselves. The heart of humility lies in undivided
attention to God, a fascination with His beauty revealed in creation, a
contemplative presence to each person who speaks to us, and a ‘de-selfing’ of
our plans, projects, ambitions and soul. Humility is manifested in an
indifference to our intellectual, emotional and physical well-being and a
carefree disregard of the image we present. No longer concerned with appearing
to be good, we can move freely in the mystery of who we really are, aware of
the sovereignty of God and of our absolute insufficiency and yet moved by a
spirit of radical self-acceptance without self-concern. Humble people are
without pretense, free from any sense of spiritual superiority, and liberated
from the need to be associated with persons of importance. The awareness of
their spiritual emptiness does not disconcert them. Neither overly sensitive to
criticism nor inflated by praise, they recognize their brokenness, acknowledge
their gifts, and refuse to take themselves seriously.” - Brennan Manning
"When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I live only a clean life", I'm whispering "I was lost, but now I am found and forgiven."
When I say... "I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and humbly need/want Christ to be my guide through life.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to act tough. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say.. "I am a Christian" I'm not being pompous or bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to teach me His ways.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect or better than you; rather that my flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it and saved my life with His son Jesus on the cross.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain and suffering just like the rest of you... I have my share of heartaches as well, so I call upon His name for God is my rock and Jesus shares in my all my pain; He walks with me through the fiery trials of life.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be holier than thou, I'm just admitting that I am sinner who has received God's amazing Grace!
I am a Christian and I am human just like the rest of you. I experience the same feelings as everyone else, the difference is that I have acknowledged that God is our Heavenly Father and that He sent His one and only son; Jesus, to die for our sins. In who He is I can find Hope, Strength, Love, Peace, Joy, and Light, even in the Darkest of places..."
